Sister Groove and The Cross Town Jam have become musical favorites in the downstate Illinois area. With appearances for the past eleven years at local nightclubs, festivals, fairs, student events, corporate events, and private parties, Sister Groove has gained a reputation as a professional, well-organized, audience focused musical act.

The members of the group are veteran performers with over 125 years of collective musical experience. Sister Groove was originally formed as an offshoot band from what was Twin City Groove (TCG) that started in November of 1996. Three of the founding TCG members, Karen Berry (Vocals), Sharon Harper (Vocals), and Duane Jessee (Guitar/Vocals) left TCG to form Sister Groove. The current additional members of Sister Groove include Tracy Campbell (Drums), Tim Bruker (Bass/Vocals) and John Clinton (Keyboards/Vocals). The current line-up of the band allows Sister Groove to produce what they call "Ultimate R&B".

Sister Groove credits influences such as Etta James, Roberta Flack, The Rolling Stones, Al Green, Aretha Franklin, and Gladys Knight as the foundation for the style of Rhythm & Blues that they perform.

Sister Groove and The Cross Town Jam are known for their professional and crowd-pleasing R&B productions, with the ability to provide a personal touch that makes every performance unique.
